Andrea Sahlmen
The cheerful 26-year-old has had muscular dystrophy since birth and is dependent on a wheelchair. After graduating from high school and studying, she is now an editor at the Neue Westfälische newspaper in Bielefeld. Writing and SC Paderborn football club are Andrea’s greatest passions, and in 2014 she wrote the book “111 reasons to love SC Paderborn” (111 Gründe, den SC Paderborn zu lieben). Her hobbies also include city breaks and travelling - and when the travel bug really bites, Andrea knows no bounds! In 2017, after weeks of preparation, she embarked on a three-week adventure to Peru in South America.
For Andrea, there’s no such word as “can’t”, and we can attest to that. With its numerous functions, the iCHAIR SKY is an ideal companion for the determined fighter.
Stand on the safe side
Upon final assembly, all MEYRA wheelchairs are tested in terms of functioning and safety. Performance on uneven ground, inclines and declines is tested on a test track, in addition to speed and braking distance. Besides the required stress and reliability tests, MEYRA carries out tests going beyond the statutory specifi cations, with increased load and additional crash tests.

Individually adapted
The iCHAIR SKY guarantees perfect adjustment by memorising the individual start and end settings as well as individually preferred positions (e.g. care position or sleep/relax position). The standing curve can also be adapted individually – for a comfortable and medically correct pattern of movement at all times.
ERGONOMIC COMFORT
The central electric legrest and the back system are fi tted with ergonomically correct electronic adjustment. The legrest is adjusted automatically from 95° to 170°, while length compensation ensures the optimum alignment of the footplate to the corresponding position. The headrest, likewise biomechanical, is another outstanding feature of the iCHAIR SKY’s multifunctional seat unit.
