MEYRA NANO S - The world’s first folding wheelchair with open frame and swivelling legrests.
The new swivelling legrests were specially developed for the NANO S and are unique worldwide for a folding wheelchair with open frame design. The easily accessible release button can also be operated without hand function thanks to the push switch. With its legrests, the NANO S is ideally suited for all neurological fittings. It also enables the user’s legs to be exercised efficiently.
The folding NANO S also scores when it comes to compactness. The innovative folding system ensures superb torsional stiffness and ride performance. In addition to the very compact frame length, the legrests and wheels can be removed in a few simple steps, for example for loading. As an option, the NANO S can be fitted with a hinged back.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Unique on the market: The world's first and only folding wheelchair with an open frame concept (mono-tube) with swiveling and removable leg supports
- Innovative folding kinematics thanks to flat double cross braces
Advantages:
1.) Very high torsional rigidity similar to a rigid frame wheelchair!
2.) When folded, the two drive wheels are absolutely parallel to each other and thus guarantee a very safe standing wheelchair! - From 10 kg curb weight
- 10 frame colors selectable at no extra charge
- Max. user weight 130 kg
Design concept
As with the other models in the NANO family, great importance was attached to making the NANO S a good looker. Modern, clear design unites with an individually selectable frame colour to create a winning personality.
Light & sturdy
You can rely on the NANO S. Despite its light ready-to-ride weight starting from 10 kg, the NANO S is particularly durable and sturdy thanks to the double cross brace. The transport weight even starts at 7 kg. Compatibility with the NANO modular system means quick availability of parts and flexible equipment.
A very good addition to the seating system is the Netti Contour cushion.
Sina and Tina
When Christina (Tina) Modrzejewski suddenly developed GBS* after a COVID-19 vaccine, she had no idea that her life was about to be turned upside down. After the shock of being completely paralysed for the time being, the trained nurse was left facing an uncertain predicament: What happens next? After numerous rounds of treatment, Tina started physiotherapy, where she met Sina, her physiotherapist and now also her best friend. Since then, the two of them have together been striving for Tina's recovery. We joined up with the entertaining duo and their NANO S folding active wheelchair and came away full of admiration for their magnificent outlook on life. Be it at parties, down the gym or while chilling out - Sina and Tina never miss out on any fun!
*Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is a rare autoimmune reaction in which nerves become inflamed and muscle weakness occurs.
